The day started out and remained sunny but the ground was initially very damp which meant the morning motorkhana tests had very little in the way of traction. This wasn't too much of a problem for the front wheel drive cars but defintely hampered the rear wheel drive vehicles.

Troy drove his MX5 (and lent it to Jeff Torkington as well) in the motorkhana and SO863 in the autocross. Richard and Timothy drove ME8579 while Trevor drove his desiel Corolla.

The field was split into two groups, the 1000-1300 and 2000cc & Over classes in one group and the 1301-1600/1601-2000cc classes in the second. The left our team members in group two, and we started with a clover leaf test on which Trevor proved to be the fatest although everyone in the team had a lot of fun getting quite sideways. Unfortunatley the venue was a bit rough this weekend and this meant that in addition to the wet ground, most cars started this test with their rear wheels in a ditch which also didn't help.

The second test was reversing one where Troy and Jeff did quite well in the MX5 which has good visibility with the roof down, but they still weren't quick enough to be truly competitive in this test.

The third test was the 'hot dog' and that last test's name is unknown, but was a very short one as we were running out of time for the autocross. This lack of time was largely due to the huge number of entries we had for both events (about 30 cars in the motorkhana and 25 in the autocross).

Timothy and Trevor enjoyed the autocross, not having done one at Bayers before. Richard decided not to enter the autocross. Troy entered but found it tough going, particularly compared to the last autocross he competed in at Bayers. Talking to several of the other club members it was generally agreed the course was quite rough (the motorkhanas had only made the ruts worse) and most people were finding themselves 'very busy' while driving it. Even so, the team completed the event without and accidents an some reasonable times.

Thanks to all the volunteers and organisers who set up/ran this event and to the Lion Foundation who are currently supporting the HCMC.
