Competitiors Air Lifted To Hospital

A statement from the Rally of the North says two competitors in the event, Marty Roestenburg and his co-driver Greg Harnett were helicoptered to Whangarei Hospital following an accident on the event this afternoon near Moerewa.
The incident occurred on a special stage with a closed road. An ambulance stationed at the start of the stage was despatched to the accident site after following competitors reported the incident .

A fire appliance from Kawakawa was laster dispatched and attended the scene to help remove Roestenburg and Harnett from their car. The rescue helicopter service was summoned to transport the pair to hospital.  Further details on Roestenburg and Harnett's medical condition have not yet been released,  to our knowledge.
